Leave of Absence
International students are permitted to request an Educational Leave of Absence from UC Merced. The student must first consult with an International Student Advsior in the Office of International Affairs. An F-1 visa international student must return to their home country during a leave of absence unless they have obtained prior approval for a Medical Leave of Absence.
