Let's Talk Culture Workshop

Adjusting to life in a new country or to a new culture brings excitement, growth, and unique challenges. Join the Office of International Affairs for an interactive workshop exploring how cultural values shape our communication, learning styles, and everyday experiences in the U.S. We’ll dive into aspects of American culture that may be new or surprising—from social norms, workplace behavior and classroom dynamics to customs like small talk and tipping. We’ll also explore what culture shock and homesickness can look like, and share practical strategies for finding balance, building community, and celebrating your own culture while adjusting to a new one. Together, we’ll reflect on how cultural humility helps us understand others and thrive in a global environment. There will be refreshments.
