Information for New Students and Scholars

Welcome to UC Merced! Whether you're here as a graduate student for the long haul or here on a short-term research program, the Office of International Affairs (OIA) is happy to answer your immigration, academic or adjustment related questions during your time at UC Merced.

It is very likely that you have already communicated with your OIA advisor and have instructions on what to expect during your first few days at UC Merced. All international students will have to attend a mandatory new student orientation and scholars will need to do a mandatory check-in with the scholar advisor. The UC Merced Arrival Guide also provides helpful information.

Don't know who your advisor is?
