Fees associated with inviting an J-1 Exchange Visitor to UC Merced

$650 | Per scholar (must be paid by recharge fee, school can request scholar to reimburse) |

Extension J-1 |
$650 | Per scholar (must be paid by recharge fee, school can request scholar to reimburse) |

Initial J-2 Spouse |
$550 | Fee for J-2 dependent spouse. There is no fee associated with J-2 children. |

Extension J-2 Spouse |
$550 | Per scholar (must be paid by Scholar directly to OIA) |

Transfer-In J-1 |
$550 | Per scholar (must be paid by recharge fee, school can request scholar to reimburse) |

Expedite Fee |
$350 | Per scholar; applies when complete request is received under OIA suggested timelines above |
| $350 | Fee will be waived if re-issue is caused by changes originated by OIA processes or the changes needed were unforeseeable or unpreventable with proper and timely planning. |
